New Era in iPhonenomania - iPhone 5

Apple fans all over the world waited for iPhone 5 presentation with bated breath. Finally, on the 12th of September a brand-new device was revealed. It has become slimmer, lighter and more powerful. But critics already moan that they’ve seen no breath-taking changes, no wow-effect.
Let’s have a closer look at the new iPhone and see whether the fruitful company has failed to surprise sophisticated public or the public has become too sophisticated and expected way too much.

Tim Cook (Apple’s CEO) traditionally began the presentation with praise for Apple and its products. He boasted about 381 shops all over the world, reminded of OS X Mountain Lion – the most demanded OS X and continued his speech with statistic of growth of sales percentage for MacBook Pro and iPad. Finally, he got to the most anticipated part — new iPhone 5:
“This device has changed the idea of a phone. It’s time to repeat the heroic deed. Meet iPhone 5!”

The new device weighs only 112 gram, has a 4-inch Retina Display with resolution of 1136×640 pixels at 326 PPI. iPhone 5 is just 7,6 mm wide – it’s the thinnest device in the history of Apple. New iPhone supports HSPA+, DC-HSDPA and LTE of course. It has a powerful chip A6, twice faster than in the previous version, which will download music 1.9 times faster and photos 1.7 times faster than before. iPhone 5 features a new camera with greater capabilities: while offering the same 8mp lens, it boasts improved HDR and PhotoStream sharing.
But the best thing about it is the panoramic mode stitching together shot of a landscape in real time and creating an impressive image up to 28 mp. Also Apple upgraded earphones: now iPhone 5 owners will have EarPods which look and sound much better. Moreover new iPhone will work longer – 8 hours for 3G browsing, 8 hours to talk, 10 hours to play video, which all is quite reasonable.

The new iOS 6 which was to be out on the 9th of September also has lots of nifty features like improved phone apps; e-ticket app; upgraded Safari and Mail with VIP lists and video and photo sharing feature; Facebook integration; kids guided access; maps feature and a cleverer Siri answering the most tricky questions and much more. Tim Cook speaking about iOS 6 called it the biggest thing which happened to iPhone since iPhone. At Intellectsoft we, especially our iOS development team, just cannot wait to start working with this new operating system!

As we can see, new iPhone does has a lot to offer and given there were lots of leaks and rumours about it, we can assume that iPhonenomania just played a bad trick for the company: too much rumours caused great expectations of the critics to be failed. Though, who cares about the critics? If so many people were sincerely interested in the release of a new iPhone, Apple has a great future ahead.
